PS-2635 is a zine made entirely using the Photoshop content-aware scale tool as a method of compressing and re-enlarging images, pushing the tool to its unintended limits in order to encourage artifacting and abstraction. The distorted, kaleidoscopic forms birthed in the process began to take on their own organic yet distinctly digital life. The contents of the zine were the product of a months-long process of visual jamming, using a mixture of original images and digital abstract sketches as a starting point for the distorted and flattened individual artworks.

After being pruned to a set of 18 compositions, 60 copies of zine were printed on risograph in 4 colors: Bright Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black. The printer’s semi-analog process adds an additional layer of texture and variability, bridging the gap between the digital and the physical and enhancing the organic unpredictability that is so central to the artwork.
